Easter Fun

The Saturday of Easter weekend we had a little Easter party with the Gaffney family and our friend Chris.

In the morning Chris hid a bunch of eggs in the backyard, so as soon as the Gaffneys came over Lily and Connor got to have an Easter egg hunt. (Yes, Lily wore her snow boots and a mitten on one hand. I really don't know why.)

Earlier in the morning Lily and I had patrolled the yard for dog poo, but apparently we didn't do a great job, so while the kids were looking for eggs Chris had a little Easter egg hunt of his own.

At the end of the hunt I asked the kids to hold up their buckets and smile for the camera. This is what I got.

Hmm. Try again?

After the egg hunt we went in and had breakfast. I made sausage quiche, oatmeal muffins, fruit salad, and bacon. Connor was a big fan of the "egg pie" and the fruit. He was also a big fan of getting food all over himself.

After breakfast we decorated eggs with crayons, dye, stickers, and glitter. The glitter might have been ill-advised.

Happy Easter!

  1. That last one is my favorite. Cuter every day! I feel your pain on the glitter- been there, cleaned up that mess! We had sequins to glue on- a little easier on the cleanup!

  2. Those kids are too cute for their own good. I almost got all the stains out, but good Easter fun is worth a few fruit stains.
